I've known of Bitcoin for about a year now and after all of the recent hype, I've decided to purchase (a fraction of) a Bitcoin. I've spent the afternoon researching Bitcoin, I think I have a good idea of the overall picture on how they work, how to use them, etc.

The only thing that I'm not too clear on is the Bitcoin exchanging sites. Mt. Gox seems to be the most popular one, but I've read about long delays in exchanging currencies. Furthermore, all of the Bitcoin exchanging sites seem to require me to upload a scan of some type of documentation. (Driver's license, utility bill, etc.) I understand this is to prevent fraud, increase security, whatever. I don't mind doing this (aside from me not owning a scanner), but I can see where it would take a considerable amount of time for an account to be created before I could even purchase any Bitcoins.

In other words, how long does it take to purchase and sell Bitcoins on the exchange site you use?

And, how long does it take to create an account there?

What about transaction limits?

Also, any other comments, opinions, reviews, etc?

I didn't see a sticky thread with this information in it (I might have missed it), but if this kind of information were compiled into one thread, it would be a good one to have at the top!

Thanks in advance!
