it has been a couple of months that people have started talking a lot about anonymity with cryptocurrencies and it started with the black market then followed by Monero becoming popular and then followed by its pump and it still continues, some other coins like litecoin are even thinking about some new features for anonymity!

what i want to say is that this is not news, and the hype has been around for a while.

I don't think that prediction is correct, I believed the hype and madness surrounding  anonymity coin peaked with Zcash launch and I can't see any other project surpassing that hype in coming year

We are all entitled to our opinion, but i think the mistake i keep hearing people make is calling anon hype.
BTC has very few flaws anonymity is the biggest, coins with fast block times, country coins, celebrity coins thats hype, anon is not hype!

btc is fast enough way faster then my bank, each country does not need a coin, max keiser does not need a coin, btc is not anon, when i bought btc in 2010 i was under the impression like a lot of people it was, BTC will never go anon because it wants to go mainstream, anonymity is about the only niche market with value, internet censorship and unwarranted surveillance is exploding..

So far those were the choice but we are evolving,maybe in 2017 there will be another dev with another project that has the better anonymity than all the coins that are existing now that are related to anonymity,all I can say there will be many coins to launch in 2017 that deals with anonymity.

zcoin has the better one out there, too bad it's flagged with botnet because of the bad algo, zcash is the second closest and it has better anonymous system than monero, and for the other coins, they are simply too old will not stand any chance imho

Monero is still the best choice for me. They are developing the coin in true open source fashion without much fuss and fake public relations. Their development team is lean and consistent. I do not know why people hate them. Maybe the haters are from the group where it was forked from?

I am not sure who the original developers are. So if anyone knows please post Monero's history here.

Experts are wrong, people not gonna put their cash or better say hide their money in some few developers.
Like some blockchain forking every day or two, maybe only a few unexpected newbie to crypto think OH NICE lets buy that shit so we can avoid paying tax a big lol.
Only crypto currency we'll see to be the all times king is our dear bitcoin.
Someone clones bitcoin and adds some codes then hide their money in it but to liquid it again they decide to make it open for public and let noobs or greedy bag holders launder their dirty money.

If Monero can get an official GUI wallet in the next month or two, 2017 could be a very big year.
I'm not sure if price would go back to 0.02 level we had in September, but at 10 to 15% permanent raise in price could be very possible in my opinion.

Dash would be my second pick, but I'm not nearly as familiar with Dash as I am XMR.

XMR is kept afloat by 1 really rich investor that also has a big stake in Poloniex.

Dash for anonymous victory. Gulden is already destroying litecoin as a mainstream alternative to Bitcoin.

Zcash and Xmr will have trouble implementing their systems into mobile applications, this is a huge weakness, Dash And Sdc are the strongest contenders imo, Dash's masternodes do somewhat centralize it's system.. imo sdc is the pick for the reasons stated another one to watch is nav

my thoughts exactly.
whenever I see this term combined with a news website the first thing that comes to my mind is "click-bait". 90% of the time it an article trying to promote a particular altcoin like what coindesk has done at least twice about ethereym pumps. and that 10% is a random article with nothing expert about it.
this article however wasn't that bad but wasn't exactly experts either.
