BTC-Stores

We're proudly to release the first open-source directory of sites that accept Bitcoin as payment method. Called "BTC-Stores", this website aim to store all websites that accept Bitcoin in the Internet - and the best thing: it's open source.

Currently we're creating some pages in Github to explain better this project for who want help us, but you already can see this online.

Development

We have a large roadmap, but at the moment we don't have a lot of time to spend with BTC-Stores - but we really trust in the power of open-source and we're waiting for the answer of the community about this project to decide how many time we will spend with this.

Already done:

• Insert stores
• Search by store title, description, country name and category name
• Search by categories (and filter by country)
• Convert inserted URL in shortened url (coinurl.com)
• Categories CRUD
• Countries CRUD
• Static pages
• Basic SEO for all pages

Next improvements:

• Improve and rethink design (it really need appears like a web search or is better appear more content in the home page?)
• Accept stores from DeepWeb (showing for user that this site belongs to DeepWeb)
• Add a lot of websites to database

• Fixed a lot of security issues in Stores.
• Now the country filter (in Categories/show.html.erb) is working 100%.
• Basic SEO for every page of BTC-Stores.
• Added "Be a Pirate!" link to footer of BTC-Stores.
• Herobrine removed.

Again, thanks! I make the design using Foundation, a front-end framework that really helped me. I'm working in this project in my free-time, and now I don't have a lot of free-time, but you can wait for great things soon!

I already found some bugs and I will fix them today. I will add some stores, too. Our next big implementation is accept stores from DeepWeb, that have a lot of unknown stores in surface . We want add responsive design too, to allow any user with any screen see the best website

Yessss! Now we have more than 320 stores! And we do that in only few hours!

Seems amazing, and it's! But we don't add everything at all, I created a web crawler and "get" "some" stores from useBitcoin.info (I hope the creator of this website don't read this hahahhaha).
