I prefer cloud mining as I don't have to pay for electricity costs. Just pay for the Hash Rate.

what do you prefer?

I'll pick option 3: Not mining.

How many cloud mining providers are there available. I only know of cex and cloudhashing.

Mining myself as I could point my miners to profitable altcoins.

I used to short mining contracts ^^ (or rather: invest in a construction that is very similar to shorting mining contracts). Nowadays I make a bit on the side with arbitrage-trading.

But people should get away from the idea that mining is the way to make bitcoins. Mining is securing the network, the bitcoin rewards are payments for that effort. If you go to a foreign country, you trade your own currency for the local currency, you don't go work as a security guard for a local bank for a week to get started. Bitcoin is no different.

yeah, indeed. same here..no asic mining anymore.

months of waiting, poor communication, delays, no refunds, heat, noise, el. consumption, bla bla bla - for nothing. the easiest way how to profit is just buy BTC (at any price) and wait couple of moths/years.)

and if is somebody to geeky, just build your own super hyper LTC rig and resell cards anytime you want.

The price of BTC will continue to raise and all other coins will gain more value.
Buy then trade.
Don't waste $ and time with mining.

Cloud mining, I really like the idea of renting hashing power because I hate doing mining myself, too bad there aren't very many scrypt contracts out there.
