QRK Donations/Fundraiser

Hello. I come here because I figure this is the best place to start. I'm attempting a fundraiser in quarkcoin. I have been trying to raise quarkcoins to donate to charities, to wit- Dogs on Death Row and Pets for Vets, the past few days. I have donated to these guys in the past and want to donate again by the New Year. With quarkcoin going up on btc38 next week (potentially), I'd like to see if I could turn the donation into something more significant than the $50 I usually give. I am essentially gambling with the 0.06BTC (about $50 right now) right now and have purchased 500 quarkcoins for these charities. The cryptocurrency community is still relatively small. Very few family, friends and co-workers know, or understand, cryptocurrencies. I have posted on facebook and sent out an email to family and friends soliciting quarkcoin donations for these charities and the reasoning provided above. But, the only response I have gotten thus far is: "Quark? Is that a Star Trek thing?" and "What the hell are you trying to do?!"

I figure this a long shot, but if anyone would like to donate a quark or ten or a hundred, or a fraction of a BTC to be converted to quark for this gamble fundraiser, that would be outstanding.

I have given to these charities through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) before, but I'd prefer to keep it in the private realm this year and years following. Again, I acknowledge this is a gamble, but any contribution will be appreciated.

If you have an idea for a different charity you'd like to see these donations go toward, such as the SOWF or WWP, please let me know and I will allocate those quarks (and eventually $'s) to that charity.
