Hallo my dear fellow miners.

As I am only able to post this question in the thread it would be in the right place (namely in the "alternative coins"- section) AFTER I have posted something somewhere else,
I am kind of forced to ask my question here. The question is:

Is there a way to mine BETACOIN efficiently via NVidia and it´s CUDA cores?
There is a CUDA miner for Lietcoin, but trying to use that program (only deliting the -skrypt command) for Betacoins is not working. (it does hash as hell, but no valid shares are being created).
There is also a miner working with Betacoin, namely cgMiner. But cgMiner is not optimized for CUDA (rather for ATI GPUs, I think) so my GTX 580 is running at full power consumption but at only 3/5 of the possible hash rate.

So it would be nice if you could tell me where I can find an efficient miner for Betacoin using a NVidia GPU.

hi
i'm not an expert but Betacoin is SHA-256
and Litecoin is scrypt
and cudaminer work only with scrypt
so with cudaminer you can only  mine the scrypt coins
like feathercoin, litecoin, stablecoin, ect

Hi,

Read the above link and download the miners listed there. Use it and test it yourself.

GTX 580 can go for 230 khash/s with cudaminer on a scrypt coin
not so bad

Thanks for the immediate responses!

It seems that starting the CUDAminer via the GUIminer does work for Bitcoin (thanks for the link greedtaoue) but not for Betacoin.
When I start the CUDAminer within the GUIminer, it sais "starting" but after an hour, there are still zero valid shares.
The same problem occurs using the reaper miner, the third miner within the GUI interface.

Betacoin is such a new coin that there aren´t yet any tutorials specially for that but I thought it works nearly exactly like Bitcoin, using SHA (not skrypt) and so on.
Well, I´m not an expert able to write my own miner, so I´ll stick to cgMiner for now.
