Indeed it will be beneficial to long time holders of the alts. We need not convert our alts to bitcoin and incur fees then again convert bitcoin to fiat and again incur fees. This will really save us more of the trouble. But for newbies, most of their entry point is bitcoin. So this does not really benefit them at all. So the price of bitcoin i think wont really make any difference.
Yeah, for those who have a very strong project that will do well in the long term and for those who have project that would kick in real demand for it. It is good that Binance is really deciding to take this step and from the look of things, it would really mean a lot for the exchange itself in terms of trading volume. I guess this move to Malta is really going to be paying them off a lot. I believe there would be an evolution as well with the exchanges this year. Let's see how it goes.
Moreover that announcement is really going to be a very sweet one for those who are holding good projects anyway and as long as reliance is shifted away from bitcoin, most of the altcoins should have a reason to be able to do well on their own. It is good for the market, and that should at least also bring in some maturity. However, I really hope that reliance won't still be there as most traders still have that perception of using alts to build their btc portfolio and if that keeps happening, we may still see that move following bitcoin.
