Hi y'all
after failed to do anything with guiminer someone suggested me to try cgminer. guiminer was giving connection problem error and windows was keep showing me a message that amd drivers been recovered from a serious problem.so i set up cgminer , wrote pool url, username.worker and password ,set my firewall filter available to cgminer but eventhough it connects hash rate is always 0, it keeps finding new blocks but nothing happens.after reading another topic about this problem tried another pool but still same.there was a topic in this forum concerning exact same problem and it seems they sorted it out by using zadig and installing his usb drivers.although i didn't understand why should i install my usb drivers again since they are already there ,i downloaded zadig, read the usage guide, but it seems there is no need to install any drivers as nothing appears to be installed but on the other hand there is certainly some sort of usb needs to be installed as you can see below ,from cgminer prints.can please someone explain me what to do as i am totally lost.why does it needs an usb driver but not using my gpu straight away (noob alert)

You are seriously confused.  Huh

USB drivers and zdiag are all bitcoin ASIC things, but you also mention ATI recovered for an error - which is all Litecoin and Altcoin stuff.

CGminer 3.12.0  won't mine alt or litecoins, you need CGminer 3.7.2 or less for that. (the link is from some blog, the official 3.7.2. windows exe is not so easy to find now)

2 questions,

What mining hardware are you using (Graphics card or ASIC)

and

What coin do you want to mine?

i am confused indeed  Grin  i tried bitcoin mining first with guiminer but it didn't connect and give "connection problem" error and couldn't get any help from anyone so i decided to give litecoin a try.i came across with this litecoin mining guide and although it mentions guiminer a lot it recommends cgminer if you have ati radeon graphic card and explains step by step how to start mining .so what is this usb thing all about, i guess if i had a asic it would be relevant but im just using a laptop with ati radeon hd7500m/7600 graphic card by the way which reminds me another reason i switched to cgminer as i couldn't find my device in the guiminer list.(atleast that was what i thought device option was for )
so should i use cgminer 3.7.2 for litecoin and when i get to learn how to do it i can switch to 3.12.0 for bitcoin

I actually would like to mine bitcoin but due to my severe noob-ity i decieded to learn how to mine with litecon as it seemed bit more reasonable using a laptop. I'm really into this stuff infact i was planing to buy a propar asic (coin terra terraminer iv was in my mind) as i have some spare money to invest but it appears i need to learn more about mining first ...and plus terraminer is not going to be available untill march

Basically yes.

CGminer 3.7.2 will mine litecoins and bitcoins - use a graphics card for litecoins and a USB ASIC for bitcoins.  Support for litecoin was dropped from CGminer after 3.7.2, but development and compatibility continues for newer ASIC (bitcoin) devices.

Laptop graphics cards are quite rubbish at mining and be careful not to cook it as the temperature will rise dramatically as soon as you start mining.

Terraminer and other advanced ASICs won't need a laptop or PC to run, only those USB sticks need a host PC with CGminer.

i checked it on other forums as i don't wanna bother you for every single problem but still need help Cheesy someone says:

Your first screenshot explains your "problem" exactly. Disable dynamic mode and set intensity 8 or 9 to have maximum mining power going.you can set in in the .conf file or as parameter -I

should i do it, if i can figure out how to do it if its really that simple, changing 1 parameter in a .comf file  or should i leave it like that.i don't want to evaporate my graphic card just to learn.
I've heard about a pci-e adaptor for laptops, should i try it with an efficent graphic card on my laptop or is it just a fantasy, is there any other way to mine with my laptop a bit more safer and efficently before i switch to asic's

and i really appreciate your help so far
