4 PCEI slots on PSU but 5 cards

Hey guys, Im running a spare 1200 PSU on a 4 card RX 580 rig. I want to add another card, but there are not enough outputs for a 5th card. Obviously my PSU has plenty of power. Is there any type of splitter I can safely use?

PCI-E x1 splitters generally work for AMD cards to add an additional card. I've used these with the Biostar TB85 to run 7 cards and had the best result connecting the splitter to the last PCI-E slot on the board.

It's hard to tell by your post whether you need more Mobo slots or more PCIe power connectors.

I am pretty sure he is not talking about adding another GPU to his motherboard but he wants to power the 5th GPU with his PSU but there isn't enough PCIe connectors.

His 1200 Watt PSU for some reason only has 4 PCIe connectors which is very low. In this case you need to repin some of the unused +12v connectors or get an adapter.

For example use your additional CPU 8PIN connection to power another GPU.

No, you connect the single-sided end of this into one of your existing PCIE power adapters (instead of connecting it to your GPU). Basically this affords you only +1 PCIE plug because the other plug is used to power the adapter, so you should probably get 2 or 3 pcs of this if you are powering high-end GPUs.

So, Im not sure this is even it. My PSU has 4 cable cable slots for 4 GPU's. Im only using 650w out of the 1200w my PSU is rated for. I want to add a 5th GPU, but have no where to plug it into the PSU.

So, Im not sure this is even it. My PSU has 4 cable cable slots for 4 GPU's. Im only using 650w out of the 1200w my PSU is rated for. I want to add a 5th GPU, but have no where to plug it into the PSU.

By using these cables your cable slots for GPU will doubled, you can add 4 more GPU's and a total of 8 if your PSU could handle it.

next problem would be powering up your risers
