The price of a Bitcoin depends on what people are willing to sell it for.
To get Bitcoin you have to mine them. The Bitcoin mining difficulty is too high. Therefore, it's more rare.
As long as no one is selling Bitcoin, then the value of Bitcoin can be worth over $10,000.

Here's the real secret about Bitcoin that most people don't know.
If everyone login to their mtgox or coinbase account and sell each coin for $1. Then Bitcoin is worth $1 per bitcoin.
If everyone login to their mtgox or coinbase account and sell each coin for $1000. Then Bitcoin is worth $1000 per bitcoin.
If everyone login to their mtgox or coinbase account and sell each coin for $10000. Then Bitcoin is worth $10000 per bitcoin.

Bottom line is you cannot get a Bitcoin, if no one is willing to sell it to you.

Good God. Really? I can see why the Illuminati keep trying to silence you.

If I've said anything amusing and/or informative and you're feeling generous:
