Hi!

I am mining with a 500 GHz/second equipment as part of the http://hhtt.1209k.com pool and I noticed by checking manually the top 10 people performing mining that I am the only one using a large difficulty factor (32768), even though this pool charge a smaller fee when someone is using this factor. Also, the pool reports surprisingly good numbers (498.445) right now for my mining effort.

With this context in mind: what is the disadvantage of using this large factor? Why are other miners, people in many cases with much more GHz/s than I using smaller difficulties when mining?

What am I missing here?

Links/pointers/reading suggestions and explanations will be much appreciated.
