Hi all,

For those of you that have built your own open-air rig, how do you stand your motherboard/systemboard off of the surface below?  Assuming that you are using a wooden base or similar to stand the motherboard on?  Are you bothering with small riser feet to ensure that the bottom of the motherboard isn't touching the surface below or are you not bothering and just having site directly?  I don't have access to do any metal work so unfortunately can't cut-down a metal PC case to use that so a wooden base seems the easiest approach in my instance.

I notice, from photos, that many people just seem to sit their motherboards directly on the packing that they came in, though this seems a little crazy due to the potential fire-risks, etc.?

Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon
