BTC Price and Exchange Delay

It takes me about 1 week + to purchase a coin on coinbase... Wouldn't this sort of delay with exchanges make price movement move like a turtle?

Am I wrong, or was there about a 3 day delay on the price drop as a result of the initial bad China news?

Its an important thing to be aware of when speculating price.
