I have posted this in the DMD thread - but it is starting to worry/annoy me so much that I have decided to put it up here on the frontpage of mining..

I want to believe the best - but I have a strong suspicion that something 'fishy' is going on with the DMD block network..!
I have been solo mining for a long time with a steady - uninterrupted - flow of work in cgminer, and with a steady flow on almost regular basis of DMDs mined - both single DMDs and also some of the rare 2 DMDs..
Over the last few days however I have seen large interruptions in the cgminer work - hanging/freezing for minutes and up to 30 minutes before suddenly resuming for a while until again hanging/freezing for several minutes..
What is going on..?
Is someone interfering with the block network in order to get the rare blocks - or what..?

later: just had another 6 min freeze..
..and let me remind you that this hanging/freezing does not happen on any other coin I'm mining - only on the DMD network..

If the devs of DMD read this - please look into this..
Or maybe someone here can give a valid and trustworthy explanation..?
It would be sad to see a fragile DIAMOND crash due to possible suspect activity..!

You may want to watch Multipool (https://www.multipool.us/) and see if when they change mine DMD if that is when you get those freezing. I bet you are mining fine and the difficulty goes down and Multipool jumps over and ramps the difficulty back up.

Anyone know how to figure out their (multipool.us) DMD payout address for when they find a block?
Besides their (multipool.us) limited website, is there anyway to check their payment calculations?
Even if a large random payout is found, I only seem to get paid based on the 1 DMD coin shares.

OK Tim - yes that could be a valid reason..
Alright - for now I've decided to move over to another favorite coin with my good hashes for a while..
Will try diamond tomorrow maybe..

DMD can kill multipool.us profit because its diff changes every block. Also, I believe that any multipools does not work because of its flawed algorithms.

OP - please do not do solo mining if your hash rate is big enough and your network is very fast. DMD network hash rate is much bigger than your may think

@Digicoin: I'm only asking because I am curious. Why would someone not solo mine with a big hash rate? I thought that would be an advantage to someone solo mining?

Also, how can you calculate the DMD network hash rate at any given time? I know the dashboards of the main pools have it listed but how do they know as well? Is it an average calculation or is the a website or code that delivers the network traffic?

DMD is a cool coin. I'm surprised more people haven't jumped on this one yet.

whenever I want a more accurate rate I just debug and put in "getmininginfo"

Cool! Thanks! I thought that command was for the miner hash rate on the PC. 200kH is much different than 200MH. LOL

I am sorry. I typed too fast. Please read my explanation as follows

Solo mining makes sense if

+ Your rigs has rather big hashrate (e.x 10% of network hash rate)
+ Your network is very fast to ensure that you can collect transactions around the world as fast as possible. Home network (ADSL) can be unreliable for such tasks.

Sorry again Cheesy
