I sent USD via wire transfer to my verified MtGox account on 19th December and they still have not arrived on 3rd January. I have had my account since April 2013 and I have bought BTC with USD before and transferred them successfully to cold storage. I have raised several support tickets with MtGox, but none of them has been answered. The amount of money is substantial - several thousand dollars. I have confirmed with my bank that the transfer did indeed take place. The bank sent me a copy of the SWIFT message which I uploaded to the MtGox support ticket so they have all the details of the transfer. Needless to say, this is extremely disappointing and shocking service from MtGox. I see from the Service board that many people are having problems with withdrawals - I didn't mind the prospect of waiting a long time to withdraw BTC. But I really wasn't expecting such long delays in depositing. This post is a warning to others and if anyone has positive suggestions for how I can get in touch with MtGox apart from daily support tickets, I'd be grateful to know.

I've never heard one positive thing about mt.gox. How they're still in business I have no idea. Can your bank not get the money back?

Yeah, I think the best site to do transactions between bitcoin and dollars is Coinbase. It's real easy to set up an account with them, they don't ask all the requirements that Mt Gox does, and you can do transactions online, or on an app if you have an iPhone. It's seamless. When I want to buy or sell bitcoin all I do is put in how much I want, hit buy or sell, and in a couple days it show up in my balance - either in my bank account, or in my Coinbase account.
