I recently picked up an Asus HD 7870 and have been mining with CGminer but no matter what I do I cannot get over 311Kh/s without losing major stability.

this is my .bat file command

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.xxx.zz:1234 -u me.1 -p x -I 13 -g 1 -w 256 --gpu-engine 1010 --gpu-memclock 1350 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune 20 --auto-fan --temp-target 72

I have found that if I go any higher or lower on my engine that I lose hashrate and if I go much higher than 1375 on memclock I lose long term stability.

Help?

System info. AMD 6200, Asus AM3+ mobo, 8gig 1333 ram, Antec 80+ 650W psu, Asus HD7870

Oh, and yes, I am new to mining

Edited for model typo.

use this and report back

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.xxx.zz:1234 -u me.1 -p x -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 --gpu-engine 1010 --gpu-memclock 1350 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune 20 --auto-fan --temp-target 72

What is your exact model of 7970

Flashing your bios is one of the ways to get your 7970 hashing at 700+. Let me know model and I might be able to advise

Virtually no change. Still floating around 300Kh/s

I apologize, in my OP and title I mistyped and put 7970 when I meant to type 7870. That being said, I am still low for a 7870 am I not?

that makes a big difference Wink

You are close to where you should be with that card.

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison#AMD_.28ATI.29

try this:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://www.xxx.zz:1234 -u me.1 -p x -I 18 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 15232 --gpu-engine 1010 --gpu-memclock 1350 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-powertune 20 --auto-fan --temp-target 72

i would try this after user/pass and just change the intensity one by one until it gets better (from my experience the GCN cards will do best with a thread concurrency of 4x their shader number) might have to try 6144 if you get any in HW but this should work with your card, and you should be able to hit around 350kh/s
--intensity 13 --shaders 1024 --thread-concurrency 4096 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 256 --vectors 1
