The people I meet are losing more and more trust in the Euro currency.
So, naming coins after real existing currencies can increase the interest and acceptance of people and even businesses.

But seriously: I think that would be only more confusing. Eurocoin so 1 eurocoin = 1 euro? No no, it's 0.062 euro per eurocoin right now. What the..?! Why it's not 1 euro? Etc. etc. Only confusing imo. Now it's at least something separate.
Personally when I explain it I just say bitcoin = digital gold and a way to send cheaply & instantly money thru the interwebs. Like gold the value can be different from time to time. I don't even mention cryptocoins or something.
