I have a press release to share today. I believe we are the first "super pac" project to have successfully filed with the FEC using bitcoin receiving addresses instead of bank accounts. However, because of legal uncertainty we are currently not taking contributions. Based on a recent FEC opinion (Linked below) it is possible that if we took bitcoins as in-kind donations and cashed them out for spending we could start now; and we could just take dollars. But we are hoping for decisions from the FEC that will also allow expenditures in bitcoin. Our vision of the future includes developing software that allows donors more control in messaging and more transparency in expenditures. We are not there yet.
