I have a question about hardware that can be mined with. i thought this would be the best place to post if it's not please feel free to move/delete it.

My laptop that i mine with on and off is a xps with an ATI Mobility 4670 1gb and a Core2 duo cpu. But its old. While looking at laptops i found the MSI GT/GX series. The difference is intel+nvidia vs amd+ati

Heres my issue...
The A10-5750M cpu in the GX line is known to bottleneck the 8970m inside. to a crippling point as I've heard.

The GT comes with a haswell i7 quad at 2.4ghz and a geforce 770m.

I'm leaning towards the GT but i have always loved having a radeon and an intel processor.

The insides of a laptop are new to me and i can't understand why the one with the 8970m cant just swap out the a10 with a haswell. Is it the mobo?

If more info about the laptop is needed just ask

I can't really follow what you're saying, so here's a few points which are probably way wide of the mark.

1. It is rare to be able to swap CPUs on laptops.

2. CPU mining is pointless.  Even if your electricity is free, the potential wear and tear (especially on a laptop) should stop you from doing it.

3. Nvidia GPUs suck at mining.

4. ATI GPUs are the way to go when mining, but the mobile ones are still very slow.  Point 2 also applies.

sorry I just noticed how terribly that was written. I thought i'd get a better answer in the mining section full of hardware people. I'm not going to mine with this. I just couldn't think of a better place to put it.

THIS WILL BE FOR GAMING - I plan on mining with a proper rig soon

I should've omitted the whole part talking about mining that was just confusing. Your first point isn't off thats exactly what i was wondering. These laptops are easier to get into and swap parts but i'm just gonna go with the nvidia version since it will be for entertainment. If it were possible to swith the a10 for a haswell it seems too costly compared to the performance increase.

Thank you for trying lol. I know that wasn't easy to understand

No problem, it's usually me that doesn't make any sense.  It makes a welcome change!

Don't mine on a laptop, you will burn it out. They cant dissipate the heat quick enough.
