I've been a lurker for quite some time - mainly just using the boards to search for answers to questions I have while learning about Bitcoin. I've decided to go ahead an open an account now because I believe I've been ripped off by an ASIC reseller and I want to document this fact publicly in the appropriate forums. In order to satisfy my "newbie" posting obligations, I thought I would introduce myself here first.
I started reading about and playing with Bitcoin (yes, I said playing with) since about March 2013. I mainly found most of my info about Bitcoins either here, or on Reddit (often as links to posts here). Since I'm a moderately active redditor, and I learned so much about BitCoin from them, I posted a 1BTC milestone post a few months back. That post somewhat serves as a good intro to my experience with BitCoin, so I'm posting it here too. I hope this isn't bad form, but it pretty much sums up my BitCoin experience of earning and spending 1BTC and serves as a pretty decent intro for myself.

I know this isn't a lot of value, but over the last few months learning about and experimenting with Bitcoin, I've:
•set up an online wallet and desktop wallet,
•joined a mining pool,
•mined Bitcoins (CPU and GPU),
•printed and used paper wallets,
•hidden paper wallets in a geocache,
•sold an item on /r/bitmarket,
•transferred BTC between wallets,
•invested in a Havelock ASIC fund,
•mined and traded LTC for BTC on an exchange,
•tipped and have been tipped,
•donated directly to EFF,
•bought games and e-books for cheap via Humble Bundle,
•and today reached a milestone of acquiring over 1 BTC.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, I spent my entire remaining balance of just over 1 BTC on silver bullion from Amagi Metals!
TL;DR I learned a lot about Bitcoin on /r/bitcoin. Thanks!
