Perhaps they mean that French bankers have a limited future?

Almost. But to be absolutely precise it is: "French banksters have a limited future".
Especially when Hollande crucifies them with his 75% tax rate!

"... this remarkably high volatility will compromise Bitcoin’s capacity to function as a medium of exchange, as it deters most large companies from accepting the digital currency as a form of payment,” the IIF report said."

So how come it's not stopping bitpay and overstock.com? So much FUD. This is only year one of ten, in terms of fast pace development!

Did anyone think that bankers will praise their competition?

I take this as a sign that Bitcoin is everything that I expect it to be.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.
