I know that these consoles have some pretty decent gfx hardware. Has anyone ever tried to reuse some of their parts for mining purposes?

It's a waste of time really, a ps3 will get you around 10MH/s.
I'm not sure about the next gen consoles, maybe someone more clued up can chime in but I can't imagine those being worth the time either.

I can understand the low hashrate would be horrible for BTC, but what about the altcoins?
Heck it beats using a 180.0k hash rate for mining.
