Hello, I have been a member of forum since 7-8 months now and was ranked a Junior Member a few days back but recently i coudn't login due to bad health for quite some time and now finally when I was back and healthy and logged in, it showed my rank to be a Newbie. All Junior Members who had 0 merit have been demoted to a newbie rank which cannot wear a signature. Here you can learn more about new rank requirements. Try to improve your post quality and don't post in megathreads. There are many people who have a lot of sMerit (spendable Merit) and merit sources who are looking for posts worth leaving a merit. There are many merit guides. Don't say that it is possible to earn it - there are people who received over 500 merit in the past 6 months.

You’ve got the full explanation as to what has happened on this thread: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements. On September 17th 2018, all Jr. Members who had not earned any merits at the time were demoted to Newbies. That also came along with the restriction for Newbies from bearing a signature, although a copper membership can bypass this restriction.

If rank is of importance to you, you need to start posting with much more effort than what you’ve put in so far, enhancing the content of your posts. Stay away from spam megathreads as @BitCryptex suggests, and specifically focus on giving more depth to your posts at the expense of time. Remember that there are many posts per day that compete to some extent for merit, so you need to shine a bit in order to spotted in the first place.

We had the same question several time. If you would've just searched before posting you would've realized why this happened to you. with your level of activity I'm sure you'll be back at your previous rank in no time.
Good luck with your new journey.

Hey it seems you had no prior merits before September announcement, which clearly states if your account had no merits you would be demoted to newbie rank. Here you can not only read the details but even participate to learn more https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5030366.0. The only way you can move up is to gain merits, simply add quality posts, actively participate in discussions and lastly do not beg for merits.

I think the replies you got below your thread must have provided with all the explanations and the help that you need.
Go over the rules again if you must, know the dos and don'ts abide by the rules and you may be back to the rank you were before September hopefully.
