Newbie here. But been thinking a lot. Totally passionate about P2P currencies. All about trust. If we can keep it going and keep / increase the trust and uptake we can make an end to debt slavery by intl banks and their various henchmen. It will be war if we ever get close. Looking forward to it (;-)

That being said: it's all about exposure eg adoption / critical mass and that's where the title comes in:

See what Red Bull does! They sponsor many /all??? edgy events & endeavors/dares and get heaps of exposure and 'free' 'cool' thrown in. Addressing exactly the demographic that would jump on board if they haven't done so, which brings in the 'cool' vendors. Eg the Bitcoin / LTC (insert favourite coin here) Six hour, Isle of Man, Base Jump, BTC Games etc etc . You get the picture. How about a mutual fund to collect donations for such projects ? Probably a tax write off soon. I'm sure there are enough contacts here to get the right team together to make this happen. Just mining & trading ain't going to do it.

Having a drink now. Cheers

Ah: Nobody go off and clone a scrypt Red Bull Coin now eh (;-)

I don't know about this. Bitcoin may be a brand, but it's not a corporate one. We don't need to spend money on advertising because the benefits and uses of Bitcoin advertise themselves. How long the masses take to catch on is up to them, but we don't need to appear cool or edgy, we just need to keep doing what we're doing. Word of mouth and people power are the best advertisements and promotion you can get.
