Ok I have seen threads about mining with one card while the other is used as the primary display.

My question is can I mine on both cards at the same time.

My setup
i7-3820
Corsair AX1200i
Card #1 7970
Card #2 GTX 680

I know the 680 is not the best for mining, but I have so why not do a little mining. My question is there a guide. Would I need to install both drivers? Would that even work?

Should I make the 680 card #1 and the 7970 card #2.

the easiest answer would be no. it might be possible but for the time and effort its probably not worth it. to start with you would need 2 screen 1 for each card

Yes you can.

I'm running 2x R9 280x and GTX 780.

780 with cuda miner gets about 450 kH/s with 2 monitors attached.

so you are mining with 3 cards and all you need is 2 monitors?

Did you have to install nvidia and amd drives?

It's not necessary to have 2 monitors, but without connected display or dummy you can't monitoring second card (temp, fan etc.). I'm mining with 1x gtx590 as main display card and 1x hd7970 as second with old monitor connected to it. Sure, you must install both drivers. Works great but there is some issue with proper config cgminer for radeon, needs extra switch "--gpu-platform 0" (or 1 depends on hw config)

Yes but you would have a really hard time making both of them work.
