So I'm planning on building a new "mining only" rig in the next month. My question to all you miners out there is what R9 series card would you buy and why. (assuming normal retail price on all cards)  If your choice is outside of the R9 series, please elaborate for your choice.

So far here's what I have for a base not including risers, ram, and milk crate. (opinions on amount of ram and speeds welcome)

MB: MSI 970A-G43 AM3+
CPU: AMD Sempron 145 Sargas 2.8GHz SDX145HBGMBOX
PSU: CORSAIR AXi series AX1200i 1200W

Cheers

Hi,

it was really empty here so i just wanted to share my opinion Smiley

my choice was the sapphire R9 280x vapor-x 3gb oc it is a good card and with power on 1148 - 1158 volt (with trixx) it does around 732 k/hs wit 250w power (see https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison ) for more info

Regards
