I am trying to deposit fiat into Quoinex, I was using Gemini before but the 1% trading fee is a huge put off.

While trying to remit the money there is an option of recipient country. I know Quoinex is from Japan
yet the account holder is Swapforex Limited which is from London. So I am not really sure which country to put.
Overall, it seems more confusing to send fiat there then Gemini.

Can anyone guide me?

They have a pretty good trade volume, see here : https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/quoine/

There are discussions about this exchange over at reddit which you can check out here. It don't look like a scam to me. If you feel unsure about making a deposit, you may try other exchanges like Kraken
