I am building an 18 card GPU system. Shocked I have started small by getting the board working(MSI - B360-F Pro). I made sure one card worked, then up to 6 before I wanted to plug in SMOS. I have flashed SMOS to a 16Gb drive. I have tested it on another computer. It does in fact boot up there. But once I bring it over to the B360-F Pro it doesn't even show as a bootable drive.

I have disabled fast boot
I have tried both the 3.0 and 2.0 USB Ports

I'm thinking if I can get it over to Legacy instead of UEFI can get it to boot up. But i'm not sure how to do that.  Huh

I have a support ticket open with MSI.

I have had similar problems with other MSI boards.

My experience has been they will boot SMOS so long as 4g encoding is disabled. Once you enable it, which you will need to if you want to run that many cards SMOS no longer is bootable, on any type of port or even an SSD. However ETHOS boots just fine. The only Difference I see it that ETHOS is UEFI when SMOS is not. This is just my experience with MSI boards and SMOS, The only solution I have found is just use ETHOS as I dread Windows for mining.

That's interesting, I have never heard of ETHOS. Is there a plus to using that software over SMOS? How much do you pay per software with ETHOS ?

You guys need to be posting this in the altcoin section, this is for bitcoin only.

P.S. If you want the best mining OS I would recommend you take a look at P.i.M.P. (www.getpimp.org) It is the most actively developed, supported, and updated mining OS I have found to date. It supports more miners than any other OS and gives you the flexibility to add your own as needed.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

anyone tested this board to work with 18 normal gpus? (normal i mean not mining versions)

I think 18x amd or 18x nvidia will not work but  for exapmple 12 + 6 or 9+9 will be great
