Whaaaa?  This article--thanks for posting it, by the way--is about a crackdown on ICOs, and I don't think that's a bad idea at all, since most are scammy.  That kind of regulation isn't a bad thing in my opinion.  The article also stresses that they're cracking down on "fraudulent activity", not bitcoin or even crypto in general.

As far as this little piece of news being responsible for the recent dip, it certainly could be.  The only external variable that seems to affect the price of btc is rumor or news, but I'd argue that the crypto community has heard much worse news than this, so it shouldn't cause the price to drop $1000 (or whatever bitcoin has done in the past week or so).

I'd say if bitcoin survived the IRS looking into Coinbase's customers' trade history, it'll survive this inquiry.  This news shouldn't even cause a bump in the price.  However I'm not quite sure what, if anything, is causing the current price drop except basic market forces.  I'm hoping we rebound soon.  *EH*.

I always suspected that the reason for the drop in prices is because people were dumping their coins somewhere and this confirms it. People were really just waiting for the prices to recover to a good position and they started to sell. I suspected it when I saw the huge sell walls that went up when the prices were nearing $10000 and I just knew things were about to get bloody.

Thats a big breakdown out there isnt it. The list is huge and I am sure those fraudsters will suffer a lot from this ceasing operation of the NASAA!

Thats really good share you made here as it is helping the scams to dilute away and thus we can be sure that what we invest in is really true thing. However, this has absolutely caused the loss of those who invested in those firms and thus it has affected the market indirectly. Im sure this down surge will stop soon as they close down everything and soon people start pouring the money back again into the crypto.

This is a piece of news about cracking down on ICO. It doesn't seem to have a big impact on the cryptocurrency market. Combating fake ICOs is a good thing!
