Hello bitcointalk  Smiley I have been on and off bitcointalk for a very long time. I recently started some bitcoin related projects and tried to login to my old account after whats been a few year break. I notice my password is wrong so I try to reset my password via email reset. But I never receive the email. I did some research and found out bitcointalk.org was hacked in 2016. So I create this profile and find my old account "aeddan1" and see that in 2016 my profile made this post:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1389360.0

But I have NEVER made this post. I have actually never created a coin or any ICO. I was wayyyy too much of a noob back then to be developing anything of that caliber as you can see from post history. Which means I was hacked for the account and someone started a scam coin. Is there any way to recover the account? Can a mod contact me please or something? Any suggestions?

I do still own the original email and even still have emails in my inbox from noreply@bitcointalk.org

Thanks!

Ah yes thank you so much! That is exactly what I needed. Only problem is what is a PGP key? Also I fear I would no longer have btc addresses. Looks like most posts i made were about shitcoins so i definitely still wouldnt have the wallets. And I have no idea what ones were sent in PMs Sad maybe i can dig through my noreply@bitcointalk.org emails and try to find an address. Wish there was a better way to revert the account back to the creation email address or I could send ID or IP address locations or something. Ill start digging through my inbox.

If you didn't posted PGP key, it's not going to help to recover account. Yeah, I also see that you didn't posted BTC address. If you still have access to emails from noreply@bitcointalk.org, I would recommend to check it out, maybe you will find Bitcoin address there. If you will find it, then you will need to send PM to admin with signed message from that address and ID of message where address was sent.
IP address aren't solid proofs to determine original owner of account. And ID verification never going to happen on bitcointalk.
