why would people pay for a wallet when all others are free?

Because it does what they need better than the others?
As a software developer, I see the need for both free software and paid software - sometimes your needs as a user are not met well by the free options, and then buying software is appropriate. Most of the software I use is free, but I do use some that I bought (I have also donated bitcoins for free software that I use  Smiley ).

How is it better?

I'd be suprised if people paid for wallets. The ones we have now seem more than satisfactory.

I'd be less inclined to trust a paid one. Opensource is the way to go especially with things like Bitcoin.

I have no idea, I don't even know it.
"Better" is a matter of opinion, and it is up to the users to decide whether something is better in their view.

OK fair enough. I thought you would have some idea why your paid software was better than free software but apparently not ....
