Hi, I'm new to bitcoins and got into them to play poker over at btcontilt.com I really enjoy them (wish they would go above $5 )  I am interested in mining (not for profit just to earn a coin or two a day to play poker with would this be possible? What type of rig and setup cost would i be looking at?

Given your interest, it would make more sense just to buy coins. At current difficulty (which can go up), a mining rig that earns 1 coin a day is going to cost you around $1500 (that's just a very rough estimate though).

Sounds like your right about buying, I did manage to earn 1.5btc from a freeroll which I took to a ring game!
