Interesting watching gold shoot up at the same time as this is crashing.  Just a coincidence probably.

Just markets being markets in a tiny and very new thing. Also this belongs to the speculation sub-forum.

Probably because literally everywhere you look you hear "Bitcoin", "Exploit", "Stolen", "Theft", "Unrecoverable" and "Lost" all in the same sentence, that's never good PR.

Please ask for a signed message from my on-site Bitcoin address (Check my profile) before doing any offsite trades with me.

Hmm... I remember living through something like this before.

the price is going down because miners are wasting 3 million dollars per day on keeping your bitcoins valuable

Ok, only 4000 coins stolen?
All sold at once on bitstamp would bring prize from current 602 to 570 for the moment. Not a big deal at all is it.

The price is going down because of inertia. Once a large drop starts, it needs a strong upward trend to break it.

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

Inertia. Up or down, that is where a lot of people lose money. It's also where a lot of people make money.
