Dubai is going digital using the blockchain technology. The leaders of the city are fully integrating the blockchain protocol into its system, and plans to disrupt major pillars of government. It announced this in a publication, http://www.dubai.ae/en/AboutDubaieGovernment/Pages/default.aspx
The highlights include;

Government Efficiency

Using the blockchain efficiency of transactions and documentation would be greatly increased and save the city millions on visa applications, bill payments and license renewals.

Industry Creation

It would encourage start ups and small business, creating self employment for it's citizens and maximizing their talents and skills, while adding revenue to the city.

International Leadership

Using a global trust network, Dubai would partner with other continents, Europe, Asia,  North America.
It would open it's blockchain platform to the rest of the world to reduce security, safety and ease of migration to Dubai.

Is this a step in the right direction for the rest of the world?
The potential in the blockchain technology lays bare waiting to be harnessed.

This is a good idea that other nations and cities can adopt.
- Decentralization
- Transparency
- Open source and a completely neutral protocol. This are qualities that would define our world of tomorrow.
