Alright guys ... I have the MSI Z77A-GD65 set up with Ubuntu Saucy Salamander using the latest AMD Drivers (14.1) and it is only recognizing 6 out of 7 cards.  The weird thing is that it is not recognizing the card in the middle full size PCI-e slot.

Any suggestions?  6 works just dandy.  Really want the 7th to work though as thats the whole reason why I bought the motherboard.

Ive tried doing a pin presence short and that didnt change the status of detected gpus when I run ./cgminer -n

Does it fail to recognize a card in that slot in the first place, or only does so with all cards plugged?

Some motherboards disable one PCI-e slot if the adjacent is populated. Or it can be that you forgot to disable sound, firewire or whatever else the MB has that isn't required for mining in the BIOS and is using PCI-e lanes.

Ubuntu isn't usually a very stable or mature Linux distro. May or may not have influence, not sure.

As a side note, I've read that 14.1 drivers give lower hashrate.

Only when all cards are plugged in from what i was noticing.

Oh, the cards are 290s, not sure if that makes a difference.

Ubuntu has been working for me in the past with mining on a 6x 290x rig so far.

Just tried disabling everything in bios except the LAN and its still only showing 6 gpus.

Just read the post.

This is the GD-65 so It should support 7 cards.  Especially so since I am running Linux.
