I've been thinking and wondering about how our species will end. Well of course in another billion years or so if we stay within the Sun's current radius no life would be sustainable due to the Sun's increased heat output. Besides that, the Sun's death and the heat death of the universe--what do you think poses the greatest threat to humanity? Would we build computers so powerful, AI so advanced that they would eventually be able to think for themselves? A stray asteroid is a real threat since the world's governments focuses on showboating their militarism instead of looking to the space and stars for advancement. An asteroid could appear any minute now and completely decimate our species and we wouldn't be able to do anything about it simply because we would rather fight among ourselves than work together. I could go on, but some input on the other scenarios would be appreciated  |

Nuclear Holocaust, but not the one everyone is thinking of, it won't be bombs that kills us but Nuclear Power plants that are operated and maintained by imbeciles, we've already seen it happen with Chernobyl and Fukushima, the only way we can stop this kind of thing is making sure these plants never get built in the first place.

Why do you have the imaginary "new ice age" and not the scientifically proven fact of global warming? Warming is very frighting. Especially because there is no reason to believe it will stop before exterminating humans, maybe all life. Nature doesn't love you, she does what she does.

I would say new world war but as you didn't list it I voted for gamma burst Nuclear holocaust is unlikely because as soon as a country starts bombing the other coutry the attacked one can return fire and kill million of civillians of the attacker.. while in usual warfare it's "just" the lifes of soldiers.. |

I'm not so sure it's a proven fact, but I'm sure many will say global warming is possibly imaginary too. I agree with RodeoX. Even if you don't want to call it "global warming," some sort of environmental issue should surely be on there. Pollution, or something like that. For instance the icecaps are definitely melting... |
