Mining cryptocurrency is risky with the difficulty that seems to continually rise in 2018, however depending on your power cost it can still be an excellent opportunity to seamlessly acquire cryptocurrency.

Masternodes can be incredibly lucrative and profitable, however you may quickly lose large sums of value because of the quantity of funds needed to acquire enough of the cryptocurrency for a masternode. Often times daily profitability calculators or personal estimates for masternode earnings are off due to a recent increase in price that has not been balance by additional masternodes / service nodes / secure nodes / super nodes coming online in hopes of acquiring the said profits.

Proof of stake cryptocurrencies are still under large speculation, with the second largest crypto - Ethereum still failing to properly implement PoS (Proof of Stake) 2 years after their initial plans to utilize PoS tech. I agree, mining is awesome.  I really enjoy speculative mining and finding new projects and meeting new people along the way.

Regarding MN, I disagree.  Just like ICOs, MN have gotten some bad PR because of bad projects/teams or just outright lies and scandal.  I think the key now is keeping an eye out for MN projects that are undervalued and I do believe there are quite a few right now.

On POS, I would just comment that MN was meant as an improvement upon POS.  That's not to say that POS doesn't have a use case.  I've seen POS implemented along side MN.  Heck, you could probably even have MN/POW/POS.  Personally, I think POS is just an added incentive but I would lean towards favoring MN projects over POW over POS.  I just think there's something to be said for the collateral aspect and security that MN adds to the blockchain.

haha I like that, naturally agree that mining is awesome -- wish it was more like last year as opposed to this year . . naturally. As far as MNs, I think its like all crypto, a ton of junk & a few gems in the mix.

I'm w/ ya on the MN thoughts, a ton of junk scammy MN projects & some good ones -- big opportunity if they are truly undervalued, staking a large claim + potentially earning good rewards (stockpiling those coins) and then when X project hopefully achieves its true (higher?) value. . it's a great day! lol
