Legalize Blockchain is an unique event which is going to discuss all the legal issues of Blockchain and how these issues can change with the technological evolution of Blockchain. It is goint to be held in the Hard Rock of Oporto, Portugal, in the 24th and 25th of july 2018. The site of the event is the name of the conference "LegalizeBlockchain" followed by ".com". Here goes a code for a discount of 50% off in the price of the tickets: BC32T3.

I don't see any point in attending such conferences. In my understanding, the conference is a meeting of enthusiasts who have a common goal. How can you sell tickets for such events? Lol. The topic is also very strange. They still did not understand that the legalization of bitcoin will destroy it?

Is the meeting backed by the Portuguese government or any other government or it is solely the agreement of investors? I do not think that calls for a meeting but that naturally, the need for it will arise just as we are already seeing interms of elections like some states are adopting it.  And other areas like E electronics/ cards etc.

I don’t see how legalizing bitcoin would destroy it. Just imagine once bitcoin has been declared in your country, then there would be more people willing to invest and enter in crypto. There are still many skeptical of bitcoin and its use because there’s the possibility that the country will declare a ban then all your effort will be for naught. It really is better to have legalizations for bitcoin and blockchain and perhaps this conference would shed light over it.

For all I know Blockchain Technology itself isn't illegal but the ones behind it (cryptocurrencies) are the ones being questioned by the government. Blockchain Technology is widely being exploited by a lot of companies and industries right now, just take a look on this news about the Retail Company, Walmart submitting and winning a patent claim on how they will integrate blockchain technology in storing medical records. This news is in itself shows that Blockchain technology is not illegal and I don't think that it ever will be.

It is a welcome idea, as it may help push for a proper legal structure for the acceptance of bitcoin in Portugal and also help promote the general awareness about cryptocurrencies.

The idea is to join enthisasts, companies and lawyers from all over the world to discuss the legal issues of Blockchain, for instance, the relation between the use of Blockchain and the rules of GDPR, the regulation of ICOs and the legal effects of smart contracts.

Oh but why are you saying the legalization of Bitcoin will destroy it? To me, it won't but may rather give it a positive outlook to the public. Currently there are so many bad things happening pertaining to Bitcoin and crypto (scams, manipulations, among others), and so I think regulations might somehow help reduce those behaviours and clean up the cryptospace.
