Hey guys.

I've been looking around for an answer to a question I have, but I can't find it, so it seems like I have to ask it myself.

Now, my problem is that I have a small business in Copenhagen, Denmark and I want to offer Bitcoins as a method of payment. I have an iPhone. And I have an old samsung that doesn't have a 3G simcard, so there is no internet.

My question is: Can I use my iPhone requesting payment (as I have understood the machete videos, I can't) OR can I somehow request payment offline? (without wifi or 3G net I must add, as I have noticed that offline in BTC context is often referred to as a BTC storage method)

Or do I have to have an Android phone with a wifi/3G net? Smartphone will be the only way for me as I work outside, taking people on a guided tours and therefor they don't come in to an office or a shop of some kind. Getting another simcard would never pay off, just to be able to accept BTC I think.

Apropos:
Very interesting conversations I've read and it seems like many try hustling with the BTC, trying to earn money without any work. Good luck with that. I hope there will be enough people that use Bits, so those who do the dirty work just vanish into the crowd. Last thing I heard was that someone was sending 0,000000001 or something bits to various accounts, just to get people to visit their website. Creative, but annoying.

All the best,
Sigmund

Why would you go for a third party?

Why would you go for a third party?
why not, you dont have to deal with customers, provides extra trust etc.

I assume that the iPhone has internet access?

Create a wallet at home (or at the office) on a computer running Electrum, MultiBit, Bitcoin-Qt, or Armory.  Generate however many addresses you want to use.  Using the web browser on the iPhone (such as Safari or Chrome), create a bookmark to the address at the www.blockchain.info website.

When someone wants to pay with bitcoins, you can access the bookmark in your browser and display the QR-Code.  The customer can then scan the QR-Code from your iPhone with their internet enabled device and make payment.  The www.blockchain.info website will display when the payment is received.

If you want to keep the bitcoin, or sell it yourself some time later, you can take DannyHamilton's suggestion.

If you want to keep everything in fiat (lowest risk for btc price fluctuation), you can take a look at bitpay and coinbase...

start your tours near wi-fi hotspots Smiley

then you'll be able to make transactions, or simply buy some megabytes and create a hotspot from your phone so the other person can connect to it and therefore send the bitcoins Wink
