This thread warning for all Gambling Site owner as FBI is starting hunting for Gambling Site.

If you’ve ever thought about visiting a cyber casino, here’s something you should know: it’s illegal to gamble online in the United States and other country.

“You can go to Vegas. You can go to Atlantic City. You can go to a racetrack. You can go to those places and gamble legally. But don’t do it online. It’s against the law,” says Leslie Bryant, head of our Cyber Crime Fraud unit at FBI Headquarters.

That means:

…No placing cyber bets on sporting events or in virtual card games;

…No transferring money electronically for gambling; and

…No wagers in offshore Internet casinos even if you live in the U.S.

What’s allowed? Some free online games, fantasy leagues, and Indian gaming sites that aren’t strictly defined as Internet gambling.

It’s also illegal for businesses to run gambling websites and to solicit online bets. Even companies handling transactions for cyberspace bettors can face federal charges.

Cracking down. Our strategy for tackling illegal online gambling—as a key enforcement agency—is to start with the companies providing the services in the first place. “We’re going after the people making the money—the owners of these virtual casinos, gaming rooms, and off-track betting parlors,” Bryant says.

We currently have about a dozen of these cases in motion. One of the biggest came last July when a federal grand jury in St. Louis returned a 22-count indictment against 11 individuals and four companies for their involvement in illegal online gaming and related activities. On May 24, one of the companies—BetonSports— pled guilty to racketeering charges in the case.

We’ve also had success against companies supporting the money flows behind virtual gambling. In January, for example, two Canadians were charged with operating an Internet payment services company that transferred billions of dollars in illegal gambling proceeds between U.S. citizens and the owners of online gambling sites outside the country.

In 2003, another Internet financial services company paid $10 million in a civil agreement to settle allegations that it aided illegal offshore and online gambling agreements. The U.S. government has also settled several cases with online businesses that have accepted money to market virtual gambling operations.

Think a little online gambling can’t cost you? Don’t bet on it. Even if you don’t get caught gambling, you could well lose the money you have in an online gaming account if the company faces charges, since the U.S. government seizes assets in these cases whenever possible.

FYI, here are the primary federal laws that govern online gambling:

Transmission of wagering, betting by use of a wire communication
Broadcasting lottery information
Fraud by wire
Mail fraud: Attempt and Conspiracy

If you live in a country where it is illegal and you want to gamble online:

1. Install vpn
2. Run vpn
3. Enjoy gambling

They are not going to go after small fish, they are hunting the big gamblers that use it to launder money.

wow this is such an old news (2007!) , and i am sure anybody in US already knows this especially those who wanted to make a new online casino! besides it is just US and the rest of the world (mostly) don't have such rules. and if anything that would only apply to the owners and players have nothing to worry about. we are using bitcoin and if too worried you can use TOR or a VPN Smiley

not sure about the case in the US since I'm not an American , but it's really hard to track every one
in my country there is no clear rules against gambling , also there is no laws at all when it comes to gambling online

in general  Americans should at least  avoid the fiat sites since we have a lot of bad stories in the past " especially poker sites "

Everyone knows it's illegal to gamble in US and many other countries, gambling site themselves block US users. but still we can access gambling sites using vpn and bypass that restriction and gamble with our bitcoins. it would be really hard to track down all the bitcoin gamblers by fbi.

It's not surprising all we know that gambling is illegal but it hereby depends in every country's laws .Even on my country the land of freedom is now on process of making gambling as illegal ,but more of us are still gambling but i cannot blame our government because more of ut people got addicted into gambling the worst are the most people who gambles are the poor ones no food to eat but habe the money to gamble which is wrong .

I think its good if gamblimg casino's will limit and know first the lifestyle background of one people before he can enter into a gambling house only it will prohibited for some people who are going to make it everyday hobby .I think this is a better idea for the rich people who still wants to have fun .

At sites that use cryptocurrencies for gambling, it would be extremely difficult to track the customers. They would need to look at the ip addresses to know where they are located and even then it's hard to track the user at the ip address.

Unless you're playing with flat money , your transaction easily to trace and you would be arrested by playing illegal gambling (that's happened on my city) . You're already know cyber-crime buster has good technology to trace your transaction and it's easy to trace your transaction.
But , most of online gambling sites uses Bitcoin as their currency (untraceable currency) it's going to be tough job for detecting customers who plays gambling in their city . So , you've seen the posts above just run VPN if your city blocked gambling sites.

*Ehh , that was from 9 years ago.

Mate this news is not even new, well I guess you are already late in the trend with what's happening in US. You just need to find some new news.

But anyway, thanks for informing us. Still this news is applicable until today unless Clinton will win the presidency.

As I know, no law can be made for gamblers who really are addicted with gambling.

Of Course Uncle Sam isnt gonna want to let anyone gamble or make money without paying him his MOB BOSS fees first.  The heck u all thought u could make money and somehow U.S. government wasnt gonna have their hand in it all... thats why there are so MANY Casinos dont want to operate in U.S. or to provide services for the U.S. residents... Uncle Sam makes sure he gets his proceeds first.  They tax the shiit out of the casinos to be legally registered and operating in U.S.

It sux for those of course living in U.S. to have such Big Brother ever watching and takin even more money from their own citizens. U can kill someone and get a lesser sentence in the U.S. than a person that somehow didnt pay their taxes..  So many in prison cause, embezzlement, tax fraud, basically if u try to steal or cheat Uncle Sam... u can be imprisoned for 40 years vs a person who murders someone can get 25 years...

Justice for Uncle Sam is in form of MONEY.  Such Greediness...

We can always go on with this and gambling online really is very convenient for people that want to stay home but get into risk in gambling, I really think even if there FBI that is getting into some illegal gambling sites they will surely not target the gamblers so it is OK to gamble online but I guess this would not hurt to say that the owner of that gambling site is the one that will perish the consequence of the FBI, And I really think there are alternative ways in playing gambling online and there are those that are really legal when it comes to gambling online, So try to research for those legal ones.
