Sync Maxcoin Wallet

Hi,

I'm reasonably familiar with the fundamentals of Bitcoin, Maxcoin etc. but not the actual mechanics of cryptocurrencies and not tech savvy.

I recently downloaded the Maxcoin Wallet but and would like to sync my wallet.

When I opened the Maxcoin Wallet it states "Wallet is out of sync" and "No block source available".
How do I get my Wallet synched?

I follow Max Keiser and Stacy Herbert virtually everyday on RT. I love his show and am glad that he launched his own currency.

Make sure your maxcoin.conf looks like this:

addnode=maxcoinus.cloudapp.net
addnode=maxcoinasia.cloudapp.net
addnode=maxexplorer.cloudapp.net
addnode=213.179.202.19

This will be located at (for Windows)  C:\Users\$YourUserName\%AppData%\Roaming\Maxcoin\maxcoin.conf

You'll want to make sure that two settings are enabled:

1.  Viewing hidden folders (Tools > Folder Options > View > View Hidden Folders)
2.  In that same section, uncheck the box for "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

You should be all set...close the wallet, restart it & give it a few minutes

Thanks so much for your advice and quick reply.

I've been fumbling through your instructions (not because they aren't clear but because of me) since you posted your reply hence the reason for my taking so long to respond.

Still working on your instructions.

I've tried what you shared but the Wallet is still showing "No block source available..." and "5 Weeks behind" although I was able to Encrypt the Wallet.

If I was more of a techie I'd already know how to do this.
