I am completely new to all of this and am going to try my hand at building a new coin ... I know I know that there are thousands and they are mostly worthless ..etc. but as a side project its just fun to create something.  Even if it doesn't take off it just adds to the development of the idea as a whole or at the very least just gives me greater insight to how this all works on a micro level.

Obviously the coding isn't the hardest part its trying to get people to adopt it, trade it, tip it, accept it for goods ..etc.

What would cause you to use a new coin?

1. What kind of security
2. Size of expected coins produced
3. rewards - fixed or random
4. What do early adopters look for - in terms of marketing
5. meme or no meme (kidding)
6. code based on bitcoin or other?

What else am I am missing?

I don't expect it to go to the moon ... this isn't about becoming a billionaire of course it would be nice, again just looking to try my hand at creating something.

I think that most would prefer fixed rewards. Predictability is linked to stability. I would avoid trillions of coins being produced.

Of course, most altcoins will fail. And even if you're fine with failing, it still adds to the already-saturated altcoin environment. Best of luck Smiley

I think no premining is important too.  Then the question becomes why are you bothering creating a coin if you don't get anything for it?  Well you get experience and I imagine Satoshi Nakamoto is doing just fine right now.

there is nothing wrong for premining as long as the distribution is fair and transparent...i wonder why ppl are still obsess in mining for...Coin2(100% premine) set a good example there..by that means..if i or anyonelse who feel it has a future..then i give it a try and just buy on it,plain simple right?at least i no need to worry about mining whales dumps it everyday.

Coin2 is a revolution, a change in the whole crypto world. Coin2 doesnt waste electricity on mining, no
expensive rigs needed. The whole mining thing is bullshit. Coin2 brought a change with a fair distribution.

Lets the dumpers dump, we dont need them anyway. They will be left coinless when this will be the next LTC.
