Hi all,

I recently started a company that produces a mining software for gamers and we are addressing a couple of things we saw has been challenging for gamers:
  • Crypto is volatile and reduction in balance can be very frustrating -> our users earn USD balance instead of crypto
  • Many people don't relate to crypto currencies yet -> Our rewards/ loot are gaming or IRL related, such as a new game, steam credit, amazon gift card, etc. some people ask for crypto as well, so we might add that over time
  • Starting to mine can sometimes be challenging -> our software is plug and play (or trying to be, we are testing everything right now)
  • Some gamers weren't happy with GPU prices, so they don't like mining -> while we don't hide that we are mining, we don't put it front and center. In addition we are highlighting our roadmap towards other applications

These are just a couple of points that we are trying to hit.
We are currently in alpha testing phase and have a bunch of people already engaged, happy to extend the offer to a couple more people. It would especially be great to add some people that come from a more mining heavy background like the people in here to get it stress-tested in that regard as well. However, our game is more around easy of use, UX, etc.

Looking forward to hear the communities thoughts on this idea and what you think we should be doing to make this great!

Thanks
Adrian

That's quite an interesting idea. But do you really think that most of the gamers would be convinced to run something that completely stresses out their GPU and can even damage it (at least that's what these gamers hear from people around, that do not buy mining GPUs for gaming!)?

Well, that's one of the other uphill battles that you mentioned right there! Gamers believe that it's more damaging to mine at constant temperatures instead of turning on and off the GPU... we're working on educating them.
ASUS actually cooperated with a mining software, so it's obvious that they build Graphics Cards that can totally do this.

Thanks for the feedback, this is great material! If you have any experience quotes or data to show GPUs don't become worse I would be super interested!
