Has anyone come across any school projects involving bitcoin. Im involved in running a code club with a local school and wanted to see about doing a bitcoin related project. the kids are between 11-14. At the moment we do the usual raspberry pi robotics stuff which they really enjoy so Im trying to find and come up with something interesting for bitcoin that not too heavy. any thoughts ?

Err. For the 11-14 demographic, I suggest first trying to understand what bitcoin is first, which can definitely be quite difficult with that age bracket. It might be hard and not beneficial for them to code something bitcoin-related if they don't quite understand what it is in the first place. With that age bracket, probably stick with stuff that can be fun for them, to keep their amusement and enjoyment up.

It is not appropriate for your audience to integrate bitcoin in your projects. In my opinion there is no relevance of cryptocurrency in your robotics projects or if you do have then you must include that to your post so that we could consider also about the idea.

Anyway, you will be one of the bitcoin market price increase contributor if the kids could hold some bitcoins in their digital wallets and we will not mind for that as long as it contribute to bitcoin market price increase.

You should probably check out https://cryptozombies.io

It is mostly about learning how to build on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Pretty fun for kids interested in STEM imo.

@electrobit, a person from my local board, has some BTC/Blockchain projects related to kids in the age range you mention. From what I can make, the core consists of seminars and workshops. Perhaps you can PM him if you are interested in his view on how he handles transmitting BTC/Blockchain concepts over to them.

This looks perfect. I'll have a play around and see how it works. Looks a good starter and who doesnt like a Zombie !?

Yep sorry, should have been clearer. We do the robotics stuff now and just mentioned to show how im looking for something kind of hands on and fun. But yes, Im not looking to somehow combine hte two areas.

yes agree, the understanding and whole point of it is key rather than just coding away. Just looking for something in between to keep them engaged.

Thanks alot again all !
