The ASIC world is comming hard on the Scrypt coins now. How do you see the alt mining market in 2014 ?

Do you think the GPU-only coins (or CPU-only coins) are going to survive/grow ?

Do you think that people are going to do the same mistakes about these ASICs (pre-orders, ...) ?

Cheers.

Scrypt ASICs are a dream come true. Scrypt coins get 10+ times more hashing power => coins go up value. New algo coins now have all the GPU miners looking for new coins to mine.

Except for sha-256 coins, all coins benefit from scrypt asics.

What I am wondering about is... will scrypt asics also be able to mine the various mixed algo scrypt-jane and quark coins? You never know...

Well I guess GPU miners will definitely move to scrypt-jane, but I was wondering about the size of this market. I'm not sure that all coins benefit from the ASIC mania. Lots of hashpower owned by a small amount of people is not a good move in my opinion.

New and existing gpu coins will take over leaving asics with the breadcrumbs

Still the situation isn't as bad as it was with bitcoin because there are so many scrypt coins. First the most profitable coins will be bashed by asics. Then the second most profitable. And, obviously all/most new coins. Actually it's already happening with gridseed asics. Just not to the extent we will see in the months to come.

Finally merge mining will become popular with scrypt coins in the next 6 months.

Who expressed the original insight that 'Information is corrosive, it seeks to escape anything that attempts to contain it' ?
Crypto-coins are information. Asics seek to contain them. Algorithms will permutate faster than asics can keep up.

No worries.
