Bittrex Iran account

Hi, can an Iranian get access to his Bittrex account to withdraw his funds or are they confiscating their funds ?

I suspect the funds would be confiscated and difficult to recover. Last I heard a couple months ago, accounts like this were still frozen.

I was really surprised Bittrex allowed Iranians on their platform for so long given the ongoing sanctions, and the fact that Bittrex is based in the U.S. Violating sanctions carries really scary penalties.....long prison sentences and huge fines. IIRC, they started locking the accounts of Iranian users around the same time they hired some former agents from the Department of Homeland Security.
