Intro:

Omnity is creating a search engine that caters to a niche market. Their search engine is similar to Google Scholar, but theirs is capable of delivering more relevant results for advanced searches. Here is an excerpt from the Washington Post praising Omnity "Omnity stands out by offering results that best match for any given search term and also how those results relate to each other. So if you’re about to start a research project on a topic you know little about, you can quickly see who is getting cited the most, whose research is the most influential or which university is leading the pack on that subject. It draws from a number of data sets, including SEC filings, public news organization reports, scientific journals, financial reports and legal histories". This is a search engine that teachers, students, & scholars could use. Omnity will excel at finding research based material. I think this project has excellent potential in this market to create a sustainable product that people would actually use. This is an ICO trying to solve a real issue, something that could be improved upon.

Questions:

What do you think of Omnity?

Short answer is no.

Icos today are looking to compete with bigger business but that's not it. You can't blow up a big corporation that has been there. Same scheme, same goal of competing or replacing the toughest coin's ranking.

This can be considered as a nonsense claim, OP must forget to shill that small ico to compete with Google as the major company in this world. OP must tell omnity team to focus on its product rather than try to create another nonsense thread like this one.

Omnity isn't trying to compete with Google search. Omnity is essentially trying to compete with Google Scholar (which I believe is possible). Also, Google isn't an almighty king anymore. They just banned thousands of channels from monetization in the past 6 months (due to article 11 & 13). This will cost them millions upon millions of dollars every quarter. Google the company makes billions, but YouTube doesn't. The past 2 years were the only years YouTube made money (https://www.businessinsider.com/youtube-still-doesnt-make-google-any-money-2015-2). In other words it's possible to compete with Google in niche markets. The only reason Google is able to dominate the way they do, is because they have an enormous cash flow capable of sustaining failing platforms.

Yes they can, but only if they pick a direct market. Generalizing won't work against any big corporation.

I think not. The country has internet known to google but it is prohibited many channels make money it is still useful for everyone. Omnyti developed in the field of electronic money so it is difficult to reach people who do not know what ico is not to mention those countries prohibited ico.

it's too early to predict, even we don't know whether the ico will succeed or fail. remember, Google is a giant company in the field of internet and technology, so it's very difficult for any company to compete with it.

Everytime I hear a startup or an ICO asking or claiming they can compete with the some of the largest companies in the world, I just laugh.
I am proud to say that I am not stupid enough to fall for such a claim.

Look back on the past year of ICOs.
How many have claimed they can be a competitor to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter?
How many have said they were going to disrupt the online marketplace dominated by amazon, alibaba, and ebay?
These companies are global, multinational megacorporations that are worth billions upon billions of dollars.
You don't think they have the resources to just create their own blockchain project and pump that out faster to a global consumer base?

But, actually, you know what happens in teh real world?
All of these companies claiming to have better tech and can compete, they end up selling out.
If they actually do have better tech, the megacorporation will just swoop in and buy them out with the CEOs getting a fat paycheck and retiring in Hawaii.

Hmmm. I must not lie about my feelings here, That will not be easy, google is like principality in terms of search engine, Omnity may only come with its own unique features. but in competition I will say it will not, or even it will be seen as competition that will take several decades.

I agree, I think it will be a difficult task. However, I like the approach Omnity has to the situation. They have a viable product with a niche. In order to compete in their target market, they have to cater to their niche market.
