sorry for the experience if it's true. But how can you prove that it's your account?   Admin here can't just ban it without a tangible evidence

He can prove that the account is his by signing a message with a Bitcoin address he posted on a unedited post.

It will prove that the address is his, which means he was the previous owner of the account.

You have to create a new signed message (instead of copying "your post from last year").

If you have not posted that addy elsewhere, it probably won't be accepted.

We don't actually accept the profile field address unless there's some sort of proof that it's remained unchanged, for that very reason.

I'm working on a new address-staking system which will automatically handle signatures, etc. Might have it ready by the end of the month if nothing else comes up to consume my time.

I used to do them sort-of regularly, but at some point I just couldn't stand it anymore, in addition to not really having time. Cyrus is still doing some, though not enough to keep up.

I acknowledge that the current situation is very bad, and we have some plans for fixing it. I hope to have manual account reviews going smoothly again before the end of the year at the latest.
