I want to share specially for newbie that, many people interested to buy higher rank bitcointalk id. But why they want I have no idea. I have seen many people make thread for sale and many people replying for buy. But they are all got red taged from DT.
If you want to attempt buy an account you will get red tag on your current id. On the other hand saler will scam your money. So both side you will be loss.

Even their intention is not scam you and suppose they handover account to you. What will benefits for you ? Nothing ! Only you can do sign camp.

Did you think, how are they got an account ? They must hack or stolen from others. Because currently there is no account farmer's . Now a days it's became very hard to build a higher rank account and need lots of time and hard working. So will you sale your account after build high rank ? If no, then how a saler will delivery account? They just came here for scam your money. Stay away from them.

Even they sale account to you by escrow, what is the gurranty that they will not hack your account on future ? If any DT member's know that you bought account they will tag you by negetive trust. Because we believe account buyer and saler can't be trusted. Even it's not against of forum rules. But seller collect account by scam or hack from other. So account buy and sale both is prohibited.

I believe those people are  thinking  to buy account , you already got idea what will happen with you if you buy account.
So please avoid from account buy/sale. If you know anyone going to attempt for buy/ sale account, open a thread against them. Save money and keep spam free Bitcointalk.

The reason for buying such high ranks is often:
 - Participation in signature campaigns: In the past, account rank was the vital thing to participate in such campaigns, but after the merit system, even if you have the required rank you will need to make high-quality posts "Your inability to create these posts is the main reason for buying these accounts."
 - Scam others: Increased awareness of the Bitcoin transactions makes everyone use an escrow service before sending any coins.

Remember when you buy an account, the writing method varies and that is a crucial indicator of the negative trust and therefore the loss of your money.
Buy/sell bitcointalk account = waste of money.

Some of the bitcointalk account are hacked accounts so probably if it will be sold to someone then it could be tagged by DT with red trust if the owner finds out someone is using his/her bitcointalk account. It is just a waste of time and money if one will going to do that for sure.

Good thing we have good people around who are doing such awareness to all newbies in the forum. Let us all help spread the awareness in this forum.

Hah?

As long as there's demand, people will both sell accounts and buy. When the prohibition on selling appears, people will also sell and buy them.
that's how the market works, as long as there's demand there will always be supply.

I honestly feel 90% of accounts put on sale are hacked accounts, and the hacker simply wanna make some huge bucks of his work..

I honestly doubt it if a member through his hardwork and persistent determination can rank up to a certain high level and decide to sell it off for some bucks,i really doubt that..

Once a spammer invariably gets a high account such as that,he more or less is always fazzed with the responsibility of keeping it since he/she has 0 knowledge in here, they end up blowing it and shooting themselves in the foot, then get to lose their money and the account or get a red trust

I did not know that selling/buying accounts are illegal in the forum. I thought people can do this. I mean obviously scamming is prohibited, but the mere act of selling an account is illegal? huh!

No, buying and selling accounts is not (unfortunately) prohibited as such, although it is very frowned upon and often leads to collateral consequences, the main on being that, if caught, both parties will likely be reported and get red negative trust. This will normally render the account inoperative for campaigns, since they normally require no negative trust from it’s participants. In addition, merit will become very difficult to earn by those accounts, as trust is often looked at before awarding merit (although not always).

From the purchaser’s perspective, you need to consider the amount of scams that have taken place related to account trade. From what I’ve seen, it is not unusual to end up getting no account in return, of getting one that has already compromised some rule and may be in the process of being banned.
Therefore, despite it not being prohibited, the downside to trading accounts add up to quite a bit.
