Hi ALL !
My main account, semaforo, was hacked recently. I had a really weak password but I don't know how it could be brute forced with CAPTCHA... anyway, I caught it after I tried to log in and the password had been changed. I checked my old email account which I used when I signed up, and saw the email with a link to freeze the account, so I clicked it and now it is frozen.

It was some Viet Namese guy who hacked it and he wrote me emails cussing me out after I froze it.

From what I have seen on here the only way to unfreeze it is to PM Theymos... is this correct? Or is there a better way? I don't think I used any bitcoin address on the account, but I have never hidden my real identity and can prove it in 1001 ways.

Any advice much appreciated.

Follow this step- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
There has no other way to recover. You just have to follow the step and wait. Some members are waiting since more than 6 or more months.

And the good news, soon theymos may implement an automated way of recovering.
You should probably just wait and hope that theymos implements the automatic recovery tool which he said should be ready by the end of the year.

~

Hi, I'm getting some strange behavior with multibit. I just installed mac os x on my macbook after having compatibility issues with ubuntu, with which I was using electrum.

First, I sent 4 BTC, and it worked fine.
